Did you know that a developing country like Kenya has a large amount of fluoride in their water?  In the US, we are so accustomed to excess and abundance in resources.  But excess is not something we associate with poor countries like Kenya .

But most people don’t know that Kenya has a problem with excess fluoride, which causes a condition called fluorosis.  That is why so many Kenyans have brown and black stains on their teeth.  In those cases, there is severe or moderate fluorosis.

But looking for brown or black stains isn’t the only thing you should look at because there are more subtle indications of mild cases in the US.

And this is what you should be aware of…

First, take  a good look at your teeth.  Do your teeth have a smooth, glossy pale creamy white translucent surface as it should be?  Do you see white flecks or white spots?  This could be questionable and you should ask your dentist.
